SPIN DENSITY DISTRIBUTION IN MnFe0.09Sb

In order to study the interstitial atoms in the NiAs-type structure MnSb the spin density distribution in MnFeg^gSB was investigated. The magnetic moment Fe Cu(Fe) = 1.0 ± 0.2 p^/atom) is polarized antiparallel to the magnetisation of the Mn-matrix. The unpaired electron configuration of Mn is the same as in Mnj QySb which indicates that the smaller, c-lattice parameter is due to a hybridisation of interstitial 3d-orbitals and 5s, 5p functions of the Sb.
